When Is The Next Pokemon Game Coming Out

Must read

What Games Could Be Unveiled For Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary

When Will The Next Pokemon Game Come Out?

The Pokemon franchise is well-known for it’s ability to recreate the same game, while still making it feel entirely new. Many consider Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver – the remastered version of Pokemon Gold and Silverto be the best Pokemon game ever released, with its beautifully updated graphics and expanded storyline. The same can be said for the Fire Red and Leaf Green games as well, which were updated version of Pokemon Red and Blue. The Ruby and Sapphire games have also received remastered versions, so that would mean Generation four should be next.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are two of the most beloved entries in the Pokemon series, and they have been praised for their darker storyline and use of 3D graphics to in the background setting. A remastered version of Diamond and Pearl on the Switch would be a dream for most Pokemon fans and it could reintroduce Mega Evolutions to the series or maybe Gigantamaxing will be introduced to the Sinnoh region.

These are just some of the ideas for what Game Freak could have in store for the Pokemon franchise. There are sure to be some games announced that no one sees coming, like a Switch port for Pokemon Colosseum, but something like that sounds pretty unlikely. Be sure to keep an eye out for any potential news on upcoming games leading up to Pokemon’s 25th anniversary on February 27th, 2021.

Summary Of Main Series Titles

Summary of main series titles
System

One of the consistent aspects of most Pokémon gamesspanning from Pokémon Red and Blue on the Game Boy to the Nintendo 3DS games Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moonis the choice of one of three different Pokémon at the start of the player’s adventures these three are often labeled “starter Pokémon”. Players can choose a Pokémon type Grass-type, Fire-type, or Water-type Pokémon indigenous to that particular region. For example, in Pokémon Red and Blue, the player has the choice of starting with Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. The exception to this rule is Pokémon Yellow, where players are given a Pikachu, an Electric-type mouse Pokémon, famous for being the mascot of the Pokémon media franchise unique to Pokémon Yellow, the three starter Pokémon from Red and Blue can be obtained during the quest by a single player.

However, in Pokémon Black and White, there are two rivals one picks the Pokémon with a type advantage over the player’s chosen Pokémon, while the other chooses the Pokémon with the type disadvantage. In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, another Trainer chooses the Pokémon with a type disadvantage to the player’s chosen Pokémon, but never battles the player instead, this character battles alongside the player as a tag partner in certain situations.

Do You Care More About Single

What Console Will The Next Pokemon Game Release On? 3DS or ...

Some of the best single-player Pokémon experiences of all time were from the DS era in Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon Black and White, and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 versions, which all received high praise upon release. However, old Pokémon titles available on Gameboy still trigger nostalgic feelings with hardcore Pokemon players. Aside from the very first generation of games, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, and Emerald probably provide the best nostalgia trips combined with relatively modern gameplay quality of life features.

If you care about experiencing Pokémon multiplayer and battling other trainers, you will need a newer title. Whether you opt for joining the 3DS competitive scene in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon or jump right into the latest main series titles on the Nintendo Switch, it will be important to consider additional costs. To use online services on the Switch, for example, you need to subscribe to Nintendos online service. Suppose you want to transfer Pokémon from previous generations of games to join you in battle in the most recent titles. In that case, you will need a variety of consoles and software to deliver an old Pokémon friend to a new game safely.

New Pokemon Game Packed With Old Classics Could Be Dropping In 2022

With news about classic Nintendo remakes and releases hotting up as we move towards the end of 2020, the whispers of a new Pokemon game dropping in 2021 have finally made their way to our ears.

So far weve had the pleasure of getting our hands on the new Mario 35th Anniversary collection as part of our Super Mario 3D All Stars review, a game that was announced seemingly out of the blue with a short wait until the release date.

Weve also been picking up a lot of chatter about the new Zelda game that is set to drop in 2021 too, whether as part of a 35th Anniversary collection to celebrate our green-garbed Hero of Time turning 35 or as a new adventure in the BOTW series.

Just as Lord Varys has his birds, Retro Dodo has our own faction of hidden spies out on surfing the internet, and word of a new Pokemon game has pika-d our attention.

But the question remains what route will Nintendo and the Pokemon Company go down with this new release?

The new Pokemon game is rumoured to be a Super Collection.

Does that mean its going to fall in line with the recent Mario anniversary release and boast a couple of classic adventures on one cart?

Or , could we be about to have a brand new Pokemon game on our hands?

Heres everything we know so far, with a little bit of friendly conjecture thrown in for good measure.

Which Platforms And Consoles Can Play Pokmon Legends: Arceus

In news that should come as a surprise to nobody, you will need to be the proud owner of a Nintendo Switch if you want to play this thats because Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch consoles, much like every other AAA Pokémon release since that console was launched.

Wed expect the games luscious landscapes to look particularly good on the incoming Nintendo Switch OLED but itll also work on older Switch models as well as the Switch Lite.

Pokmon: Where The Series Should Go After Sword & Shield’s Crown Tundra

The second half of Pokémon Sword & Shield’s Expansion Pass is almost here, and fans are curious about what’s next for the series.

With less than a month left until the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield‘s next expansion, The Crown Tundra, fans are wondering what’s next for the series. The Pokémon Company‘s upcoming New Pokémon Snap seems to be next in line, and other games like Detective Pikachu 2 and Pokémon Sleep have already been announced. However, these spin-offs are not necessarily what the audience is interested in. All eyes are cast in the direction of the next RPG entries in the series. While a new game in 2021 is likely, those hoping for Pokémon Generation IX likely have to wait a bit longer.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Starters

What Will The Next Pokémon Game Be? When Will It Come Out? (2015)

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will feature three starters for players to choose from. As usual, itll be one grass-type, one fire-type, and one water-type. However, there is a difference in this game from other mainline titles: rather than introduce brand new starters as the series usually would in a new generation, each starter has instead been pulled from other regions.

This means you will be able to choose from the Johto regions Cyndaquil, the Unova regions Oshawott, and the Alola regions Rowlet.

Now This Is What Next

Pokémon fans are looking forward to a double-helping of Pocket Monster action over the next six months, with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl arriving in November before Pokémon Legends: Arceus touches down in January 2022. The former is a remake of Diamond and Pearl outings on Nintendo DS, but the latter is seen by many as a ‘next-gen’ experience akin to Zelda: Breath of the Wild a game which will hopefully take the series in an exciting new direction.

However, the latest trailer for Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss’ DokeV makes us genuinely question what a true ‘next-gen’ Pokémon experience should look like. The WIP footage was shown off on the opening night of this year’s Gamescom, and visually at least, it looks like an appealing mix of both Pokémon and Splatoon.

“DokeV is a creature-collecting open world action-adventure filled with intriguing stories and set in a unique, vibrant world,” says the game’s official site. “Befriend the adorable Dokebi that gain strength from and encourage people’s dreams, and get ready to embark on an adventure!”

Players are shown interacting with one another in a huge, sprawling cityscape. You can ride bikes and skateboards, as well as float around on umbrellas, but the main focus is battling and capturing monsters. Combat appears to be in real-time , with your monster allies automatically attacking enemies while you chip in with weapons, which you can seemingly switch between at will.

Dialga And Palkia Edition Nintendo Switch Lite Release Date

The new Switch Lite is due out on the 5th November 2021 in the UK, EU and US.

Sadly, the new Switch Lite console won’t come with Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, as it launches a couple of weeks before the release of the two new Pokemon Switch games, both of which are due out 19th November on Nintendo Switch.

It’s also coming out around a month after the release of the Switch OLED, which is due to come out on 8th October.

Pokemon Announces New Games For 2021 & 2022

There are new Pokemon games on the horizon!

Game Freak announcedPokemon Legends: Arceus, an open-world action-RPG, which will arrive in early 2022 for Nintendo Switch.

Heres more about the game, set in the feudal past of the Sinnoh region, via IGN: Announced during todays Pokemon Presents broadcast, gameplay showed a game world reminiscent of Breath of the Wild, covered in wild Pokemon to catch, and seemingly using some action mechanics for play. The aim is to create Sinnohs first Pokedex, and includes exploration, Pokemon capture, and a version of the series traditional turn-based battles.

The game will center around the mythical Pokemon Arceus.

In addition, remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearlwill be released in late 2021 for Nintendo Switch.

Experience the nostalgic story from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl in a new adventure, Pokemons official YouTube declared. Check out the trailers for the games!

Wrapping Up Sword & Shield

WHAT THE NEXT POKEMON GAME WILL BE

Game Freak still has plans for Pokémon Sword & Shield before the end of the year. Naturally, the most substantial is the upcoming Crown Tundra DLC, which will wrap up the two-part expansion pass that began with June’s Isle of Armor. In addition to that, a complete edition of both Pokémon Sword and Shield is slated for this November, offering the respective base games and DLC in one package.

Bearing this in mind, it’s unlikely that Galar will receive a third version, similar to Pokémon Platinum. That follow-up to Diamond & Pearl was the last third version, as both Black & White and Sun & Moon received dual follow-ups, while X & Y simply ended the Kalos adventures there. As such, it doesn’t seem likely that the third version trope will pop up again here. Likewise, since Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon launched only a year after the base versions, it seems fairly clear that the development of the Expansion Pass has taken the place of a sequel game. That is perhaps for the better, as it frees up more development resources which can be allocated to Gen IX.

Sinnoh Remakes And Let’s Go Johto

The first theory is fairly inescapable online: Sinnoh remakes. Ever since Game Boy Advance’s Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, each Nintendo handheld has gotten a full remake of a past Pokémon generation. The Nintendo DS got HeartGold and SoulSilver and the 3DS got Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, so naturally it’s time to revisit Diamond & Pearl. Considering this trend as well as the intense fan speculation and desire, Sinnoh remakes in 2021 seem like a safe bet.

At the same time, 2018’s Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee have invited speculation about a potential Johto release that re-imagines Gold and Silver. With only one Let’s Go title, it’s unclear whether such a sequel will come to fruition. Considering that Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee clearly ran on a modified 3DS engine with heavy Pokémon Go integration, the games may have just been a stopgap to get Pokémon on the Switch prior to Sword and Shield. Still, with how creative and refreshing the Let’s Go titles were, Game Freak may want to recreate that nostalgia-driven, casual fun in the Johto region.

At this point, everything is speculative until an official announcement. However, with the high Pokémon sales figures and potent franchise excitement, it’s unlikely that the community will have to wait long to hear what’s coming next.

What New Pokmon Tcg Expansions Are Releasing In 2021

What Console Will The Next Pokemon Game Release On? 3DS or Nintendo Switch?

The Pokémon Trading Card game will have two expansions released before the end of 2021, with Evolving Skies in August and Celebrations in October.

Over the years, the Pokémon Trading Card Game has released primary series and gradual expansions throughout the franchise’s lifespan. So far, the Pokémon TCG’s has gotten many expansions in 2021, and collectors and players alike might be wondering what is coming next. While the TCG’s popularity is still in full swing, The Pokémon Company has revealed plans for additional expansions to be released throughout the rest of 2021. The multiple expansions currently confirmed are based on the Sword and Shield games, but with the upcoming Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes, as well as Legends: Arceus in 2022, a new TCG series could be on the way as well.

Early 2021 saw a number of expansions, including Battle Styles, Chilling Reign, and Evolving Skies. Celebrations, which released in October, featured reruns of many famous and popular cards. Both Battle Styles and Chilling Reign TCG expansions focused on the DLC for Sword and Shield, while Evolving Skies leaned into Eeveelutions and Dragon types. Even though these card collections have finally caught up with Pokémon Sword and Shield’s development cycle, at least one more expansion is confirmed for 2021 so far.

Pokmon Diamond And Pearl Remake Gameplay And Setting

If you played the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games on Nintendo DS, then you should know what to expect in terms of gameplay. The core Pokémon series gameplay appears to be largely unchanged, maintaining exploration of the overworld, turn-based combat and a focus on catching as many Pokémon as you can to fill out your Pokédex as an extra completionist objective.

Based on recent previews of the game, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl look like they’re going to be fairly faithful, if slightly safe, remakes that bring forth a lot of nostalgia. The updated art style makes for a cuter, more cosy game but it seems like the core experience will be familiar for those that loved the originals.

It seems the aim of the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes is a fairly faithful recreation but with some much-needed quality of life improvements. Indeed, improvements from newer releases like auto-save, character customization, improvements to HMs and being able to access your Pokémon Box from anywhere have all been noted. More contentiously, EXP Share will also be present in the remakes but it appears players won’t be able to turn it off which isn’t likely to please everyone.

Contests have also been slightly revamped to make them more interesting, with more cutomization and a new rhythm game element.
