How To Get More Eggs In Pokémon GO? Egg Collecting Tips and Tricks

Whats in Pokémon Go eggs changes frequently. They typically shift when events happen, changing to pools of eggs that have Pokémon to match the event. The Pokémon you get out of an egg depends on when you obtained the egg, not when you hatch the egg.

Tapping on the egg and scrolling down in the app will list out the potential Pokémon you can get from that egg, by rarity. The more egg icons it has, the rarer it is to hatch.

You can see a complete list of Pokémon in all the different types of eggs on The Silph Road.

Regional Pokémon will only hatch from eggs obtained from their respective region.

  • Walk 10 km with Eevee as your buddy
  • Evolve Eevee into Espeon during the day
  • Send 20 Gifts to Friends

Rewards: Eevee Encounter, 2,500 Stardust, and 1 Metal Coat

If you havent evolved an Eevee into an Espeon yet, you can name the Eevee Sakura to turn it into an Espeon, guaranteed. Otherwise, you have to walk 10 km with Eevee and evolve the buddy Eevee during the day. Keep in mind that the Eevee has to remain your buddy as you evolve it. Swapping buddy Pokémon before evolving the Eevee will ruin the process.

How To Hatch A Pokemon Egg

To hatch an egg, check your Pokemon list and hit the tab labeled “Eggs”. Clicking on the egg will prompt you to put it in an incubator to begin the process of hatching said egg. Note that you only have one incubator to start with, but more can be bought from the Shop, or rewarded for reaching certain levels – although the shop and other versions will break after 3 uses – while your starting incubator has unlimited uses.

Once in the incubator, you’ll be given an indication of how many more kilometers you must travel in order to hatch the egg. Then it’s just a matter of going off to explore while your GPS does the work!

Take into consideration that the GPS works in sync with your phone’s pedometer, so you can’t trick it by hopping into a car and driving a few kilometers. Your game must be open and you must walk for that distance to count toward the hatching of your egg . Fast-moving vehicles will likely disable the distance traveled unless there are frequent slowdowns or stops .

Most eggs take between two to five kilometers to hatch, but just like in the original Pokemon games, the longer it takes to hatch the rarer the Pokemon probably is!

Hatching an egg will also earn you quite a bit of XP, and lots of Pokemon Candy for that Pokemon.

Whats The Rule For Pokemon Go Weekly Distance Rewards

Pokemon Go Egg Chart

Every week , Pokemon Go looks at your fitness app to figure out the total distance you have walked. Based on that, you will get a weekly reward or walking rewards.

Rewards fall into the following three categories:

  • Pokemon Go 5km : You get 20 poke balls
  • Pokemon Go 25km : You get 20 poke balls, 5km Egg or one rare candy, ten great balls, or 500 stardust.
  • Pokemon Go 50 km : 20 poke balls, 5km egg or 10km egg, ten great balls, and either 1500 stardust, three rare candy.
  • Pokemon Go 100km : 20 poke balls, 5km egg or 10km egg, ten great balls, and either 16,000 stardust, three rare candy.

Dont expect addition and more significant rewards for walking more than 100km, at least, as of now. Many game users think that a 5km egg is not a useful reward for covering a 25km distance.

To combat this, you should close all Egg Spots to get a reward of either one Rare Candy or the 500 Stardust.

When it comes to gifts, ensure that you have an open Egg Spot so that you can receive one. Moreover, the egg pool offers different from the main pool. It may focus on smaller or rarer Pokemon groups.

As it keeps changing, it can become challenging to track even your standard egg chart. You should keep a journal to keep track of your Pokemon Go 50 km rewards.

How To Get Lucky Eggs In Pokmon Go: How Best To Use Them

Lucky Eggs last for 30 minutes and double all your experience point gains, but 30 minutes is not a lot of time if you’re walking around between PokéStops and catching a Pokémon here and there. There’s going to be a lot of dead space during that half-hour where you’re not getting any XP at all.

Alternatively, you can use a tried-and-true power leveling method called Pidgey Spamming. Basically, this a popular method in which you save up a bunch of evolutions for common Pokemon and then evolve as many of them as possible during the 30 minutes your Lucky Egg is active. Pidgeys are particularly good at this because they don’t require that many candies to evolve.

Pidgey Spamming requires some planning to do right, and for that you can use PidgeyCalc, a free online tool that helps you figure out precisely what you need to do in order to get the most out of your Lucky Egg. PidgeyCalc makes Pidgey spamming very easy.

You should also consider that the GPS on Pokémon GO does not work if the player is moving too fast, so if youre driving at 70 miles per hour, then the distance is not being recorded. Once the required distance is covered, the phone would vibrate and the screen would show you the word Oh written on it. Tap on it to watch the egg hatch and the Pokémon would be added to your Pokédex.

You should be patient during the egg hatching process because the game is still new and there are additional features, and bug fixes being done on a daily basis to improvise and improve the application further.

Difference Between Lucky Eggs And Pokemon Eggs

5 Things You Need to Know About Hatching Eggs in Pokemon Go

At the start of the game, you may confuse Pokemon Eggs with Lucky Eggs, but there are drastic differences between the two both are useful in their own right!

Lucky Eggs in the game are consumable items that allow trainers to gain double XP for a period of 30 minutes. However, you should only go with it if you know there are a lot of Pokemon in an area or before entering a gym.

This item is particularly useful when combined with other items which drastically increase the spawn rate of Pokemon in an area. Unlike Pokemon Eggs, Lucky Eggs can be bought from in-game shop.

Pokemon Eggs, on the other hand, are the ones that provide you with wild Pokemon and are the one that you need to gather. As mentioned earlier, unlike Lucky Eggs, Pokemon Eggs are dropped randomly by visiting Pokestops.

How To Beat Arlo In Pokmon Go

Pineco leading the fight means a really powerful Fire-type can wipe the floor. Bring a Moltres if you want to strut a little bit. This will give you a good setup if Arlo changes into Steelix or Scizor in the next phases. If you get hit with a Steelix or Charizard in phase two, bring out a Ground-type like Garchomp or Rhyperior. Raikou, Electivire or Zapdos are solid counters for Blastoise.

Phase three is where things can get even harder if youre not properly set up. Mamoswine is a good counter to swap into if you dont have to face Scizor. Your Moltres will probably be out of gas by this point if youre unlucky. In that case, bring in something equally powerful like Goundon.

Below you will find his possible roster choices:

First Pokémon
Electivire Tyranitar

Mewtwo, Metagross or Latios are a good open if they have Psychic-type moves. Grumer wont be able to stand against that. A strong Ground-type Pokémon, such as Goundon, Garchomp, or Rhyperior can both counter Omastar and Electivire. Machamp is a bit harder to handle, but a Mewtwo should be able to take it out, or any other mildly tanky Psychic-type.

For Swampert, youll want a Grass-type Pokémon such as Roserade, Alolan Exeggutor or Tangrowth. Against Torterra you could choose a Fire-type Pokémon, but it might be better to go for any solid Ice-type if you have it. Tyranitar is one of the more dangerous elements here, you will want a strong legendary

How To Hatch Pokemon Go Eggs Fast

Since you are required to walk somewhere between 2km-10km in order to hatch an egg, the process can be a little tiresome and time-consuming. Luckily, there is a handy method that you can use in order to speed things up.

Although I have mentioned earlier that you cannot use a vehicle in order to hatch eggs faster, you can do so if you are travelling slow in densely packed areas or are travelling under the speed of say 30mph. As long as you maintain this speed and have the app open, you should be able to hatch multiple eggs within no time!

Ride Your Bike Or Skateboard

If youre still looking for exercise while hatching your Pokemon Go eggs, then bicycling or skateboarding is another option.

The game is smart enough to know if youre going too fast that youre not walking, but as long as you keep your bicycle or skateboard moving at a reasonable pace, the game will think youre walking, not biking.

The benefit of this method is that it requires significantly less effort to cover the distance, and you can typically cover it faster than via walking!

To hatch your eggs while riding a bike or skateboard, do the following steps.

Step 1: Affix your phone to your bike or skateboard, or carry it with you in your pocket.

Step 2: Find a reasonable pace that makes the app think youre walking and go for that pace for most of the ride!

Pro Tips

As a bonus, you can use your bike to cover more area and, if you affix it to your bike, so its visible, you can also be on the lookout for new Pokemon!

Are There Any Other Ways To Get Double Xp In Pokmon Go Events

Absolutely. Pokémon Go has run several events so far that have offered XP multipliers. During some of them, it was a blanket 2x multiplier for all XP essentially a constant Lucky Egg all day, every day, for the duration of the event. And yes, if you used a Lucky Egg at the same time, you got quadruple the XP.

Pokémon Go has also run events where the multiplier for XP was specific to catching, hatching, or some other action. Its essential to pay attention to what specific action in the game grants these bonuses and focus on those. Like other multipliers, these also stack with a Lucky Egg.

Keep an eye out for them.

On Reddit, accounts of whos been getting eggs are conflicting: some have been getting them since before Level 10, some got 10k eggs from the moment they started collecting eggs, while another player reached Level 23 without getting a single 10k egg.

Then, there was the sad Pokemon GO trainer who posted on Reddit that they were level 26, had visited 1,164 Pokestops, and had never gotten a single 10k egg.
