Pokmon Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire Would Port Well For The Switch

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl Announcement Trailer (Nintendo Switch)

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire reimagined the Hoenn region, utilizing updated graphics and enhanced gameplay, without losing the charms of the Hoenn from the original titles. Released after Pokémon X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire integrated Mega Evolution as a major component of the remakes. New Mega-capable Pokémon were introduced to the original list from X and Y, as well as the Primal versions of each game’s Legendary mascot.

To add to this, the graphics style made side activities like secret bases and contests even more fun to engage in. Because Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were released on the Nintendo 3Ds, they would likely also do well porting to the wider screen and better performance of the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch 1320 System Update: Patch Notes

Just like many other Switch console updates, Nintendo has not confirmed a set of official patch notes leaving it to the imagination, or for dataminers to sniff around for clues.

On this occasion, OatmealDome has provided some patch notes, with stability changes and bug fixes taking up the majority of the limelight.

Version 13.2.0 is out. Official patch notes state stability.

The nim component and the overlay applet were updated.

Probably just bug fixes.

A second tweet from OatmealDome focused on black screen issues, as well as a Chinese rating system.

It seems that Nintendo added support for CADPA, a new Chinese rating system, to the software startup screen for Chinese-region games. The rating icon will appear in the lower left corner.

Thats everything we know so far about the Nintendo Switch 13.2.0 update, and for those making the most of unlimited Master Ball, Rare Candy or Shiny Pokemon glitches in-game, you live to fight another day.

Nintendo is giving away a Pokemon Diamond-themed outfit for your trainer if you purchase the game before February 21, 2022. You’ll simply need to use the Mystery Gift in-game tool to receive the outfit in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are not being developed by Game Freak but rather Ilca, which also worked on Pokemon Home. However, Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda, who directed the original games, is returning as director on the remakes alongside Ilca’s Yuichi Ueda.

The Gen 4 remakes have an adorable chibi art style with squat characters, though in battle, the Pokemon trainers will appear in a more realistically proportioned form. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl also retain the classic top-down perspective. According to Nintendo, these are “faithful remakes” of the 2007 games, and “the sense of scale of the original games’ towns and routes has been carefully preserved.” This is a different approach from previous Pokemon remakes–instead of completely modernizing Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, the development team is leaning into nostalgia and sticking much closer to the classic look and feel of the Gen 4 titles.

Pokmon Diamond And Pearl Need Switch Ports Before November

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the remakes of Diamond and Pearl released in 2006, will be available to play for the Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2021. Nintendo has teased gameplay, revealing a colorful reimaging of the classic Sinnoh region, as well as updated battle mechanics and additional features. While it isn’t yet known if the remakes will be as true to the originals as past full remakes have been, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl would benefit from Switch ports of the original games before the release of the remake.

Originally released for the Nintendo DS, Diamond and Pearl are among the many Pokémon games that have become hard to find due to the passage of time. Nintendo hasn’t rereleased physical copies of past Pokémon games, making the original copies the only ones available. While Diamond and Pearl are technically playable on the Nintendo 3DS due to backward compatibility with the previous DS systems, many fans of the series may find their original cartridges have been lost, have stopped working, or perhaps the players never had the chance to purchase the games upon their original release.

Pokmon Diamond And Pearl Remake News And Rumors

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl – Overview Trailer – Nintendo Switch

Grand Underground, Secret Bases confirmedThe Grand Underground and Secret Base features are returning in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes. The former is a sprawling underground dungeon, featuring rooms filled with Pokémon to catch.

The latter acts as your home away from home, and can be customized with furniture, statues and more.

Tying into this is a brand new feature to the remakes known as Pokémon Hideaways. These special rooms contain Pokémon based on the statues you’ve placed in your Secret Base. In addition, unique Pokémon may spawn here that you won’t be able to catch anywhere else.

Character customizationSomething missing from the previous remakes, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, was the ability to alter your trainer’s appearance that debuted to a warm reception in Pokémon X and Y.

Thankfully, the feature is returning in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, where players will be able to dress up their trainers to their liking.

Pokéball customizationAnother feature that’s being expanded upon is the ability to customize your Pokéballs with stickers, emblems and more. This time, your unique Pokéballs will also be able to make an entrance with various flashy effects based on the designs you affix to them.

E3 2021Unfortunately, we didn’t hear more about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl at Nintendo’s E3 2021 showcase but we’re hoping to hear more about the remakes in the coming months.

Which Pokmon Can I Trade Into Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

We don’t know yet if all 900 Pokémon currently in existence will be able to transfer into Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. However, considering that not all Pokémon made their way into the Sword and Shield Pokédex, my guess is that only select monsters can be traded in. We’ll keep our ears to the ground and will update you when we learn more.

Classic Pokmon Games Deserve A Nintendo Switch Port

Many past Pokémon games would benefit from a Nintendo Switch port, allowing games on outdated systems to be accessible for fans on a modern console.

Each generation in the Pokémon series has introduced notable characters, stories, and species that have become a major part of the entire franchise. Iconic characters like Red and Blue from Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow continue to make appearances in recent games and media, while features like Dynamax in Sword and Shield put a fresh spin on classic battle mechanics. However, Pokémon has always struggled with a major setback. Every few generations of the Pokémon series new consoles release, creating an issue with the playability of older titles. Because of this, many classic entries of the main Pokémon games would benefit from being ported to modern consoles like the Nintendo Switch.

During 2016, Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow were officially ported to the Nintendo 3Ds. These titles were followed by Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal in 2017 and 2018. The ports brought the games forward from the Game Boy and Game Boy Color, allowing those unable to obtain the older consoles and vintage game cartridges to replay, or experience for the first time, the beginning of the Pokémon series. However, the release of the ports overlapped with the release of the Nintendo Switch, which eventually overtook the 3Ds as Nintendo’s primary console, again locking the titles to an outdated system.

Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Review

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Confirmed For ...

Its always difficult to know just how much of a game to change when youre remaking it, and that is certainly true when it comes to the insanely-popular Pokémon series. Go too far, and you risk alienating the audience, as was evident with the enjoyable but somewhat simplified Lets Go! Pikachu and Eevee Switch remakes of the original Pokémon Red and Blue. If you manage to combine the elements that have advanced the formula in the years since, though, you can create some of the very best games in the franchise, as was the case with HeartGold and SoulSilver on DS. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl fall somewhere in the middle a pair of titles that offers a great opportunity to pick up some of the Sinnoh Dex that is missing from the current mainline Sword and Shield games, but ultimately an adventure you probably wont return to once you’re done.

Theres a strange feeling of obligation to these remakes. Generation 1, 2 and 3 have all received stellar reimaginings, and Generation 4 felt like the odd one out. However, instead of a Game Freak-helmed remake and love letter to the generation, ILCA, the studio handling Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, has changed the art style for the worse and failed to include many elements from the generations best game, Pokémon Platinum.

Currently, there aren’t plans for a Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl edition of the OLED Switch consoles. Because of this, those who hope to try out the OLED Switch’s new features, but want to pick up the limited edition Pokémon promotional console, will either have to choose one and miss out on the special features of the other or sink money for both consoles. The OLED Switch is listed on Nintendo’s website for 349.99 USD, while the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Switch Lite will be 199.99 USD. Purchasing both consoles when the OLED model outperforms the Lite would likely be a frustrating waste of money for fans of both the Nintendo Switch and the Pokémon series.

Pokmon X And Y Should Receive Ports For The Nintendo Switch

(Re)discover Sinnoh Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl (Nintendo Switch)

Of the eight generations currently available in the Pokémon series, Pokémon X and Y would be among some of the most exciting titles to receive a potential port to the Nintendo Switch. The Kalos region introduced many mechanics that have become popular in subsequent installations to the series, including enhanced battle mechanics like Mega Evolutions, character customization, and heavier importance on Pokémon NPC involvement in the narrative. Pokémon X and Y were released in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS, during the transition from the well-known pixelated graphics and sprites of the original games to the widespread use of 3D art and models in more recent titles. Because of this, the art and gameplay would likely hold up well on the Nintendo Switch, with minimal changes needed to be enjoyable.

Pokmon Diamond And Pearl Remake Trailer

Official trailerPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were first shown off during the February 2021 Pokémon Presents showcase, announced alongside a trailer demonstrating the games art style and gameplay primarily.

The games aesthetic in the overworld very much mimics that of the original Nintendo DS release, with deformed chibi style characters navigating basic 3D environments. Things change in battle, though, as characters take on more realistic proportions alongside the full-sized Pokémon models.

As such, the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes look to be quite faithful to the originals, albeit with a high-definition 3D overhaul to the graphics while throwing in some fairly impressive lighting effects. Some cinematic battle animations were also shown off in the trailer, and look to be at least somewhat of an improvement over Pokémon Sword and Shields efforts, where the animations were criticized for being reused and underwhelming for the first HD mainline Pokémon title.
