Evolving Fletchling into Fletchinder and eventually Talonflame will result in a Talonflame that knows Incinerate as their fast attack. Is it worth evolving all your Pokémon during this time just for this move? Likely not.

If your focus in Pokémon GO is PvE raids and battles then Talonflame is almost never an ideal choice, whether they have Incinerate or not. But for those who play a lot of PvP in the GO Battle League there are some opportunities for use. Great League and Ultra League offer some chances where Talonflame would be useful, depending on your team makeup.

Theyll likely never make the top of our usual charts, but if youre looking for a solid Fire type fast attack and Talonflame works well with your other team members then it would be worth evolving a few just to have the choice. This is esepcially true if you can get Flame Charge as the Charged attack. This boosts Talonflames attack stat so you can end up in a great situation if you can last a while and get a few Charged attacks in.

Niantic has just announced the next Pokémon GoCommunity Day and the featured Pokémon will be Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokémon. This Normal and Flying type is a Gen VI Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region. Its last stage, Talonflame is a Flying and Fire type which will have the Community Day exclusive move, Incinerate. This Community Day will be held on March 6, 2021 and will be a Community Day: Play at Home Edition, running for twice the length of a normal Community Day.

Other bonuses will include three hour long Incense and triple Catch XP. Additionally, Fletchling’s Shiny variant will be introduced and boosted, making it the first Gen VI Pokémon to have a Shiny variant in Pokémon Go. Fletchling will be featured in a Paid Special Research story, The Bravest Bird, available for $1USD or local equivalent in the PokéShop. The PokéShop will also have a Community Day box with 50 Ultra Balls, five Lucky Eggs, a Poffin, and an Elite Fast TM for just 1,280 PokéCoins. Talonflame’s Usefulness In Pokemon Go

Talonflame is a bulky Fire/Flying-type Pokemon that will have a place in both the Great League and Ultra League play. While there are a lot of great Fire-type Pokemon that appear in both leagues, the use of Incinerate should help Talonflame stand out a bit more. The major issue with Talonflame’s now ideal moveset is that Incinerate comes with a bit of risk – players who don’t time the use of Incinerate risk having their opponent switch out Pokemon and use several quicker moves while Incinerate is still in the queue. Additionally, the high energy output of Incinerate is only useful if your opponent doesn’t block the charge move with shields.

In general, Talonflame’s best moveset is Incinerate teamed with Flame Charge and Brave Bird. Talonflame will be most useful in Great League play and it should still have some usefulness in Ultra League too. Talonflame does not have much use in raids.

The highlight of any Community Day event is the chance to get a Shiny version of the featured Pokémon.

The normal Shiny encounter rate is about one every 450 encounters, but during Community Day that rate increases dramatically to roughly one every 24 encounters. If youre looking, youll be sure to run into a few by the events end.

Shiny Pokémon dont appear on the map as Shiny, so youll have to engage each Fletchling you see. Youll know its Shiny when you see a different color on Fletchling. A Shiny one has a tan belly and wings, whereas the normal one is blueish-gray. Its actually kind of difficult to see if you dont know what youre looking for, but the game will show a Shiny Pokémons trademark sparkle by its name tag and character model.

After this event concludes, Shiny Fletchling should remain in the game as an available Shiny. You dont want to miss out on the event and the increased Shiny Rate.

Since youll be getting a bunch of Fletchling in your Shiny hunt, youll get a sizable amount of candy to power up any with good IVs. Fletchlings final form, Talonflame, is a solid Fire type attacker that you wont be upset to have as Shiny.

There are a few other relevant details that trainers should be aware of ahead of the upcoming Fletchling Community Day.

As with all of the recent Community Days, Incense activated during the event window will last for three hours. This provides a great opportunity for trainers who are unable to leave their houses due to the pandemic.

Players taking part in the event will also earn 3x catch exp perfect for hitting those new levels that dropped at the end of last year. Cracking a Lucky Egg will grant players a 6x exp boost for good measure.

Finally, for those who want to spend a little more, Niantic is offering a Special Research event and a big item bundle. Fletchling Confirmed For March 2021 Community Day

The subject for our March 2021 Community Day has been confirmed, and this time around we can look forward to… Fletchling.

The Community Day move for Talonflame will be Incinerate, one of the strongest Fire Type fast moves for both PvP and PvE… and also the absolute slowest move in the game.

Also available will be the traditional 1,280 Pokecoin bundle, this time including an Elite Fast TM. Players will also be able to join the normal special research line for this Community Day for a cost of $1. But what’s the name of this special research line?

The Bravest Bird

Players who enjoyed Generation 6 of the main series will know the reference here. If you don’t play the main series, then this may seem a bit convoluted, so we’ll explain a few terms along the way for the uninitiated:

Back when X and Y were released, it was quickly discovered that Talonflame had a Hidden Ability named Gale Wings. Gale Wings had the effect of allowing Talonflame’s flying type moves to always go first . This effect was very frequently paired with the attack Brave Bird, which had very high power, meaning Talonflame could take the field and absolutely ignore the speed of anything that didn’t have a move that also had priority. This made it a defining Pokemon of the generation, and had people frequently refer to Talonflame as the bravest bird.

How Do I Make The Most Of Fletchlings Community Day

During the event period, any XP earned from catching Pokémon will be tripled, so we recommend using Lucky Eggs as you catch Pokémon. These will grant you even more XP, which will be useful for climbing to level 40 and beyond.

Talonflame is an OK fire-type attacker for gyms and raids, and is massively outclassed by Pokémon like Reshiram and Chandelure. If you want to use it in raids, set it up with Fire Spin and Fire Blast It will be very good in Ultra League for PvP, with Incinerate, Brave Bird, and Flame Charge.

If youre deciding which Shiny Fletchling to evolve at the end of the day, try using one of the new search strings. Sort your mons by recent using the lower right icon, and then type 4* in the search box at the top. This will let you know if you have any 100% IV Fletchling. Most people wont be so lucky, so next youll want to type 3* in the search box, which will show you any recent mons that are 80% or above. Appraise these to see which one is best, and then evolve your new buddy!

March’s community day for Pokémon GO has been revealed to star the fledgling Pokémon from the Kalos region, Fletchling. Previously, February’s community day had the Gen 3 Pokémon Roselia, but this next community day is jumping three generations ahead to have its first Kalos community day.

This community day comes several months after Kalos Pokémon were introduced in the game. Fletchling is one of the first Pokémon in the Kalos Pokédex after the starter Pokémon, so it makes sense that it would be the one to kick off Kalos community days. Pokémon GO usually adds one or two generations of Pokémon per year, and 2020 had both the Unova and Kalos rosters make their debut. It’s likely that the Alolan roster will make their debut sometime in 2021 as well, especially since several Alolan forms of Kanto Pokémon are already in the game. Some Galarian forms of Pokémon are also in the game.
