Pass Down Egg Moves Without Breeding A New Pokemon

In Sword and Shield, it’s possible to transfer an egg move between two of the same Pokemon. Put two of the exact same Pokemon in the Day Care & make sure the one you want to learn the move has an empty move slot. After some time, the egg move will be passed on.

The only way to affect a Pokémons IVs is to go through Hyper Training. If you have a Lv. 100 Pokémon, you can use a Bottle Cap in the Battle Tower to make an individual stat perform as if it is a perfect IV. You can breed a Pokemon with attack defense and special attack with the Destiny Knot and get those three ivs, then use that same one with another Pokemon with the other IVs. Breed Pokemon To Pass On Ivs

Use Pokemon Breeding to pass on the parents’ IVs to a child Pokemon. We recommend getting a high IVDitto. This will help make the breeding process a lot easier since Ditto can breed with any Pokemon that can produce offspring and pass down its high IVs to its eggs.

To breed them, leave the Ditto and the other parent Pokemon in the Pokemon Nursery in Solaceon Town.

If one parent holds the Destiny Knot, 5 of their 12 IVs will be passed down to their offspring. Without it, only 3 of the 6 IVs of the parents will be passed down. Let the Ditto with high IVs hold the Destiny Knot while breeding.

You can obtain the Destiny Knot on Route 224, accessed by the blocked area of Victory Road that opens up after getting the National Dex.

Replace parents with offspring that has higher IVs

Check the IVs of the newly hatched Pokemon to see if they have better IVs. You can unlock the ability to check IVs via the Judge Function at the Battle Tower.

The best way to catch Pokémon with High IVs is through Max Raids. Start a Max Raid Battle by interacting with a Pokémon Den. If a Den is empty, you can throw in a Wishing Piece purchased from Watt Traders to spawn a random Pokémon. Four trainers can battle against a Dynamax Pokémon to have an attempt to capture it or receive rewards. You can team up with friends, or the game will assign NPC trainers to fill the empty slots. The host of the battle always has a capture rate advantage over the other trainers to capture the Pokémon. If the capture fails, the Pokémon will escape.

Pokémon caught in Max Raid Battles will always have at least one perfect IV. The higher the difficulty of the Raid, the more perfect IVs the Pokémon will have. This is indicated by how many stars a Raid has. If you manage to catch a Ditto with high IVs in a Max Raid, you can use this to breed with other Pokémon of your choice and make other high IV Pokémon.

You can also catch a Ditto with high IVs in the wild by finding Dittos with Brilliant Aura. While there is no direct way to make Brilliant Aura Pokémon spawn, the likelihood of spawning a Brilliant Aura Ditto goes up if you have fought or captured a lot of Ditto. It is impossible for a Ditto with Brilliant Aura to spawn if you have never fought or captured one. This approach will get you a Ditto with at least two perfect IVs.

Destiny Knot And Everstone

There are two items you should have before you start breeding. These two held items will make your breeding efforts much more fruitful.

The Destiny Knot allows you to pass down five of the six IVs from a parent to its offspring. If you have a Ditto with high IVs, its best to give this item to them. From there, you can find an appropriate partner with other high IVs. Then when they breed, at least five of the offsprings IVs will be good because of your Ditto, and the sixth one will hopefully be filled in by its mating partner.

The Everstone is an item with two functions. Its default ability prevents Pokémon from evolving. However, in the breeding process, the stone gains another function. When a Pokémon holds an Everstone while breeding, it will pass on its nature to its offspring. This is an important function to keep in mind as natures boost and decrease certain stats. Give your Everstone to your non-Ditto breeding partner to make sure their offspring has the right nature when its born.

How To Catch High Iv Dittos

To capture a high IV Ditto, head to the Canalave City and towards Route 218. Head towards the patch of grass and use Super Repel. Save your game and use Poke Radar to find pokemon in the grass.

Head towards the moving grass to start the animation. If the Pokemon is Ditto, then you can catch it using the desired Pokeball. If it is a pokemon other than Ditto, then quit the game and load the save file that you just created.

You will be guaranteed a Ditto if you follow the above steps. Now, in order to get a higher IV, repeat the process and keep making chains. You will get 1 IV Ditto for 20 Chains, 2 IV for 30 Chains, 3 IV for 40 Chains, and 5 IV for 100 Chains.

I Have Three Or Four Perfect Ivs On Either Parent

Im going to slack a bit and omit the math here. Unfortunately, doing a comprehensive analysis of every IV combination would yield hundreds of tables, and even for me thats a bit too much work to give one very simple piece of advice:

Give your nature parent an everstone, and give your other parent a destiny knot. Breed batches of pokemon, and check for IVs periodically. When you get a better parent, replace one of the existing parents and continue.

With any luck, this step wont take too long. It should be a gradual steady climb until your get parents with 5 perfect IVs, at which point the next session should provide some reassurance that youre not totall insane, if nothing else.

Breeding For The Best Ability

Normal Abilities Are Likely To Be Inherited From A Female

When you breed two Pokemon with normal abilities, you will have a 70% chance of inheriting the ability of the female Pokemon.

Hidden Abilities Are Inherited At A 50% Chance

When the female parent or non-Ditto Pokemon has a hidden ability, you will have a 50% chance to inherit that hidden ability.

How To Transfer Egg Moves

Once youve got a Male Pokemon with an Egg Move, you are ready to breed for egg moves but here are some of the rules you need to follow:

• You need a female Pokemon of the same egg group to breed an offspring that will learn the males egg moves first and then move on to the females egg moves.
• If the number of eggs moves you learn exceeds 5, then each slot you exceed will result in the offspring forgetting the already learned moves starting from those learned from the male.

Do note that any moves you forget can be learned again by visiting the Move Reminder in Pastoria City. He is located northeast of the waterfront, next to the Poke Mart.

The most important thing to remember about this particular method is that youll want to head to a specific Max Raid Battle den to catch Ditto.

Breeding is going to be the main method for boosting IVs. When you breed Pokémon, the IVs of the parent Pokémon are given to the child. The most tried-and-true method for breeding for high IVs is to get a Ditto with the highest possible IVs since a Ditto can breed with any other Pokémon in the game aside from a Legendary. To breed Pokémon, you simply place two parent Pokémon together in the Pokémon Nursery in Solaceon Town.

To speed this process up considerably, you want to make sure your Ditto is holding a Destiny Knot item. This will guarantee that 5 of the 6 IVs the Ditto has are passed down to the offspring instead of the normal 3 out of 6. Since were using Dittos with IVs stronger than the Pokémon you want to improve, we want as many of their stats passed on as possible. You can pick up the Destiny Knot on Route 224 once you are able to pass through Victory Road.

As you breed Pokémon, keep checking their stats to see when theyve surpassed their parents IVs, and then swap them out to become the new parent. The key here, though, is eventually getting Dittos with Best, or 31, IV ratings in all stats. One Ditto doesnt need to be perfect in everything so long as you have one that does have a 31 in each IV stat so you can swap them out and breed those stats into one Pokémon.
