Challenge Blue At Viridian Gym

Once Green has been taken care of, the next post-game battle for players to seek out is Blue. He’ll be waiting at the gym in Viridian City and, like Green, has access to some incredibly powerful Pokemon.

His team consists of Pokemon who are all level 66 or higher and even includes a level 68 Mega Charizard Y. This isn’t the only gym that can be re-challenged either, although it is definitely the most difficult of the eight that are available.

You Can Import Pokmon From Pokmon: Go But It’s A One Way Deal

“Pokémon: Let’s Go”also lets “Pokémon Go” players transfer their Pokémon from their phone into the Switch game, though the transfers are one-way, permanent and limited to the original 151 Pokémon. However, the newer Alolan versions of the original Pokémon introduced in 2016’s “Pokémon Sun & Moon” can be transferred into “Let’s Go” from the “Pokémon Go.”

Though the “Go Park” transfer features were not activated at the time of this review, Pokémon from the mobile game can be caught in the park and added to your party, and give the player access to special mini games and rewards.

There Are Tons Of Fun Ways To Build Your Relationship With Your Partner Pokmon

Pokémon: Let

Forming strong relationships with your Pokémon is one of the game’s overarching themes, and the bond with your partner Pokémon, either Pikachu or Eevee, is the most important. Inspired by “Pokémon: Yellow,” the partner Pokémon will always stay on the player’s shoulder during the game and has a big role in the story. Before you pick a version it should also be noted that your partner Pokémon can’t be evolved, meaning the Eevee that you get at the start of the game will never become Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporean, and Pikachu will refused to evolve into Raichu.

But you need to decide whether you want to attempt to catch them before or after taking on the Elite Four.

The Nostalgia Bucket Loads Of Charm

It’s really hard not to feel the pull of enchanting familiarity as you play.

Newcomers and those who have been out of the Pokémon loop for a few years will likely enjoy Let’s Go as a gradual way to get back into the games. The Pokédex only has slots for the first 151 Pokémon from Gen 1, so you’ll start off with what you’re already familiar with. This also keeps the type system from getting too complicated for newcomers who are unfamiliar with Pokémon’s current combat system. As expected, some of the Pokémon are exclusive to one game or the other, so you’ll have to trade with someone who has the other version in order to complete your Pokédex.

You’ll also face off against all of the original gym leaders, including Brock and Misty. And of course, Team Rocket is up to their old tricks with Jesse and James popping up throughout the land. This addition makes the games feel even more like a Pokémon Yellow remake. It’s really hard not to feel the pull of enchanting familiarity as you see these gorgeous renditions of an 8-bit game you played as a child.

A Special Controller The Pok Ball Plus Will Release Alongside Pokmon Let’s Go And It’s Less Silly Than It Seems

Pokémon Lets Go, Pikachu! / Pokémon Lets Go, Eevee! | Game Review

Nintendo will also release a new device called the Poké Ball Plus alongside “Pokémon: Let’s Go” this Friday. The Poké Ball Plus is primarily a controller that allows the game to be played with one hand. It functions as a single Joy-Con for the Nintendo Switch with two buttons and small joystick in the center. Players can use the joystick to move around and can swing the poké ball at the screen when catching pokémon, as they would with a JoyCon.

While I originally felt like the Poké Ball Plus seemed a bit gimmicky, it ended up being the controller I used the most while playing the game. Though its can take some time to get used to holding it correctly, the ease of the two-button design is a testament to how easy it is to play “Pokémon: Let’s Go.”

Let’s Go Adds New Characters To The Story Of Red And Blue Like Team Rocket Members Jessie And James From The Pokmon Anime

The presentation of “Pokémon: Let’s Go” is an overall high point for the series, adding cutscenes for the story’s most powerful moments and incorporating memorable characters into the narrative more often. The franchise has returned to the Kanto region of “Pokémon: Red & Blue” many times in the past, but “Let’s Go” still manages to refresh the world with colorful redesigns and some nice thematic visuals.

Pokmon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Let’s Go Eevee Review Nostalgic Charm With A Few Strange Changes

I first learned about Pokémon in elementary school after hearing two classmates argue about whether Raichu or Electabuzz was the better Electric-type Pokémon. It didn’t take long before my parents bought my brothers Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Red, respectively, and then gave me Pokémon Yellow. I absolutely love those games and have played them more times than I know along with every subsequent Pokémon game since through Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Fast forward 20 years later and Pokémon has developed into the highest-grossing media franchise in the world instead of simply being a passing trend. To celebrate, Game Freak released Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! on Nintendo Switch in 2018. While you do travel around the original games’ Kanto region and only encounter the first 151 Pokémon, this is not a remaster. For one thing, these Switch games employ a catching style reminiscent of Pokémon Go’s mechanics. On top of that, you don’t get to choose the original starters in this very simplified version of the original games.

You can then bring the Meltan you catch in Pokémon GO to or , where it can follow you around during your adventure in the Kanto region. Even if you don’t catch Meltan in Pokémon GO yourself, you can ask a friend to send one that they’ve caught into your Nintendo Switch game.

Is It Any Good

This updated version of a gaming classic brings the collection series into the 21st century, making it more accessible and engaging than before, even if it makes it easier at the same time. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! take a fresh new look at the gameplay of Pokémon Yellow with many new updates, making the title very accessible for newcomers. For one thing, random battles have been eliminated in favor of seeing the creatures on a map, so players can pick and choose which fights to engage in . You also get tons of Poké balls to capture monsters, whether they’re found in the environment or as a reward for beating trainers. Unless you mistime a throw, it’s almost impossible to lose a creature. But most striking with the Let’s Go games is that they focus more on bonding and building relationships with your Pokémon. You’ll be able to feed, clothe, and play with Pikachu , which builds trust. Similarly, you can take other captured Pokémon out of their shells to follow you around the world. Spending this time gives the creatures the ability to shrug off attacks and even heal themselves of harmful status conditions, which makes your investment in your stable of creatures extremely valuable. Plus, it’s almost impossible to stop smiling when your Eevee purrs and smiles at you as you scratch its ears.

The Coolest Things About Pokmon: Lets Go Pikachu And Pokmon: Lets Go Eevee

Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee! and Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu!, released this past week, are the first mainline Pokémon games for Nintendo Switch.

Both games return to the setting of the original Pokémon games, the Kanto region. And both games come highly recommended by my familys resident Pokémon experts, my 19-year-old twins.

The influence of Pokémon Go is obvious on these new games and they found that is mostly a good thing. Multiple mechanics from Pokémon Go have been integrated into the Lets Go games in order to be an entry point for new console players who were introduced to the series only by the mobile game.

However, it still manages to be quite enjoyable for franchise veterans like my twins.

How good? My twins made a list after playing for three days straight, the most theyve played any of the Switch games:

The games are basically the same the only difference is which Pokémon you customize to be your “partner” .

The games return to the Kanto region of the first Pokémon games and retell the familiar story of “Pokémon: Red, Blue, and Yellow.” The games can’t be considered true remakes, but they bring a bevy of new features while retaining the simplicity of the original game.

Pokmon Let’s Go Is Also Designed As A Starting Point For A New Generation Of Players Introduced To The Franchise By The Pokmon Go Mobile Game

Let’s Go” brings the gameplay back to the basics of “Red, Blue & Yellow,” forsaking the increasingly layered role-playing elements of the newer “Pokémon” games. The result is a much simpler game, which may disappoint longtime fans, but it will make “Let’s Go” much less intimidating for new players coming from the mobile game or kids who might be playing “Pokémon” for the first time.

Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee Uses A Mini

Several gameplay mechanics have been revamped with new players in mind too, especially encounters with wild Pokémon. All wild Pokémon now appear on the world map as they would in “Pokémon Go,” and touching them will trigger a catching sequence.

Instead of battling a wild Pokémon to weaken it, players enter a “Pokémon Go”-style minigame using motion controls to throw Poké Balls in hopes of a successful catch. While not everyone enjoys the touch screen catching mechanics of “Go,” the Switch’s motion controls rarely feel like a hassle.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are 2018 remakes of the 1998 Game Boy Colorrole-playing video gamePokémon Yellow. They were developed by Game Freak and jointly published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Announced in May 2018, Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! were released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch on 16 November 2018. The games are part of the seventh generation of the Pokémon video game series and are the first of such to be released for a home game console. They feature connectivity with the mobile game Pokémon Go and support an optional controller, the Poké Ball Plus.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! were first announced at a Japanese press conference in May 2018, with the intention for the games to bring in newcomers to the series as well as cater to old fans. They were also meant to appeal to a younger audience for this reason, the games incorporate elements from the anime, similarly to Pokémon Yellow. They received generally favorable reviews from critics, with praise directed to the accessibility and charm, whilst criticism was directed towards the motion controls. The games have combined worldwide sales of over 13 million as of December 2020, making them one of the best-selling games for the system.

Shiny Hunting Spot Them In The Overworld

Pokémon: Let

Shiny Pokémon, or alternately colored Pokémon, have been around since Pokémon Gold and Silver, but its been a little more recently that the fan base really started to understand what made these encounters more likely. In the Let’s Go games, if players catch 25+ of the same Pokémon in a row, their chances of getting shiny Pokémon goes up significantly.

Additionally, this is currently the only game that allows you to tell if a Pokémon is shiny in the overworld. Granted, catching shinies can still take hours, but it’s nice being able to do it a little easier with Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! Make sure you transfer them into Pokémon Home once you’ve acquired them.
