Pokemon Go Can See Everything In Your Google Account Here’s How To Stop It

Editor’s note at 6:11 p.m. PT: Niantic has acknowledged Pokemon Go gains unnecessary “full access” to users’ Google accounts on iOS and is actively issuing a fix. If you’re an affected user, no action is needed on your part.
PokeHype is here, it’s real and isn’t going anywhere soon. It’s not all gravy, though. Dealing with server issues is one thing, but finding out an app has complete and total access to your Google account is another.
As Adam Reeve discovered after starting to play on his iPhone, if you use an iOS device and a Google account to sign up for Pokemon Go, .
That means the developer of Pokemon Go, Niantic, may have access to your emails, Google Drive, calendar, contacts, photos, Chrome browsing history, search history, Maps data… and, well, anything else linked to your Google account.
According to Google’s support page, full access lets the application “see and modify nearly all information in your Google Account .” That’s not to say they are actively accessing said information, but the possibility is there for it to happen.

Scroll All The Way Down To The Bottom Of The Screen And Tap The Sign Out Button
You will then be taken back to the initial login screen for Pokemon Go where you would be able to log into your account again or sign in with a different one. After you sign in again the game will reload and you will be able to start playing on whichever account you used to sign in.
Note that signing out of Pokemon Go will cause some game settings to change, such as the sound and music. If you previously had those turned off then you will need to go back to the Settings menu and turn them off again.
If you are using a Google account that has two factor authentication enabled, then you may need to complete that authentication if you sign back into the game again. Whether or not this happens will depend on your current Google settings for that device.
Join A Team And Battle
At a certain point in the game,you’ll be asked to join one of three teams. Once you join a team, you’ll gainthe ability to assign your Pokémon to open Gym locations or to a Gym where ateammate has already assigned a Pokémon. Each player can place only one Pokémonper Gym, so you’ll need to work together with other members of your team tobuild up a strong defense. Like PokéStops, Gyms can be found at real-worldlocations.
If a rival team has claimed a Gym,you can challenge it by using your Pokémon to battle the Pokémon defending theGym. You choose which of your Pokémon will join in the battle. Each Pokémon hastwo kinds of attacks, and can also dodge the defending Pokémon’s attacks if youswipe left or right. If your Pokémon win the battle, the motivation of thedefending Pokémon is reduced. When the motivation of each defending Pokémondrops to zero, the defending team loses control of the Gym, and you or anotherplayer can then take control of it by assigning a Pokémon to defend it.

What Makes Pokemon Go Failed To Login
A lot of reasons may trigger the Pokemon Go login issues. Here are some common ones:
- Internet connection issue: your internet connection doesnt work.
- Pokémon Go server down: the server could be down sometimes and affect users playing of the app on any devices.
- Restricted data usage: usage of data in the background is not allowed or excesses a certain limit.
- Unstable system and bugs: if your Pokémon Go app version or the operating system version of the device running it is old, some bugs may occur to stop from finishing the login.
- Rooted mobile phone: Pokemon Go cant be played on a rooted device.
- Banned account: a user account could be banned if it broke the games Terms of Service.
- Account issues: if the account information is incorrect or the account is glitched, you cant use it to log into the app.
- VPN or proxy: if youre using VPN or proxy when opening Pokemon Go, your login action may be blocked. The sites/servers think your connection is suspicious, so it wont allow you to get access to the game.

There are a handful of different ways that you can sign into an account. These include a Google account, a Pokemon Trainer Club account, Facebook, Apple ID, and more. Regardless of of the method that you use to sign into your account, you will be able to choose one of these options from the log in screen.
Depending on the steps that you have previously taken in regards to saving your Google account information to your device, those credentials may or may not be automatically saved when you go to sign back in. If you are unsure of your password or email account for a particular Go account, then you may want to verify that you have this information before deciding to sign out of an account.
You can be signed into the same account on multiple devices at the same time. However, Go applies some location information when you perform certain actions in game, like catching a Pokemon. If the next action that is performed is in a geographic location that couldnât have been realistically reached in that timeframe, then you may encounter some problems.
An example of this would be if you are signed into your account in New York and you catch a Pokemon. If a family member is also signed into your account in Los Angeles, and they try to catch a Pokemon 5 minutes after you did, then that Pokemon is going to flee. This is part of some anti-cheating measures that Niantic has added to the game.
