New Video Officially Reveals Glastrier & Spectrier

Today the physical versions of Sword & Shield bundled with the Expansion Pass are released. The Pokémon Company have released a new video to promote it, which shows the new legendary Pokémon found in The Crown Tundra, Glastrier and Spectrier.

It highlights their abilities, Chilling Neigh and Grim Neigh, plus Calyrex’s forms with the ability As One, as well as their signature moves Glacial Lance and Astral Barrage.

The color is a characteristic that can be easily recognized by sight however, each Pokémon‘s color was made official with Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, where, in the Pokédex, it is possible to arrange Pokémon by this distinction.

The option was omitted in Generation IV, however it came back in Generation V and has been present until Generation VIII.

Each Pokémon is classified under one color, even though it has more than one color in its body. In most cases, the Pokémon’s color is the one that predominates over its body. If the Pokémon has multiple forms, each form has its own color and may be categorized under a different color if it radically changes the colors of its body. Shiny Pokémon do not have their own colors.

One key piece of advice for newcomers Shiny Pokémon do not appear Shiny on the Pokémon GO map. You have to tap on them and enter catching mode to see if they are shiny or not.

Getting Started With The Pokmon Bank

First, youll need to get the apps themselves.

Log onto the 3DS eShop to download the Pokémon Bank app for free. It should be listed right there on the main page of the storefront. You cant miss it. The setup process is fairly straightforward though it is worth mentioning that youll need to create a Nintendo Network ID to use the Bank if you havent done so already.

Although the Bank is a paid service , if you register now theres a free 30-day trial available for purchase until March 14, 2014 with full functionality. Do this! While inside of the app, it clearly states how many days you have remaining on your pass so dont worry about keeping track of that information. You also wont be automatically charged once those 30 days are up.

As for the Transporter, which is necessary to move your Pokémon from Black/White or Black 2/White 2 into X/Y, there will be a prompt to download it once youre in the Bank theres no need to go digging around for it in the eShop.

A new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus has dropped, and reveals two rival clans: Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan. They are led by Adaman and Irida respectively. According to the press release:

Pokmon Launches 25th Anniversary Celebrations

This year, Pokémon turns 25 years old! It all started in February 1996 with the release of Pokémon Red & Green in Japan. Today, The Pokémon Company have begun their celebrations. A fun video was released in which a Poké Ball makes its way through various dioramas, containing highlights of past Pokémon games.

It was also announced that there will be a year-long music collaboration with Universal Music Group called P25 Music, headlined by pop star Katy Perry. There is a small hint of it at the end of the below video.

Pokémon GO has announced several updates that they are calling GO Beyond, which starts in December.

The first is that Pokémon from the Kalos region – Generation 6 – are coming to the game. Specifically Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bunnelby, Fletchling, and Litleo will appear in the wild or in eggs. Klefki will appear only in France. From December 2nd-8th they will be appearing more often. A mysterious Pokémon will also be appearing in 1* raids.

Go Seasons were also announced. Pokémon appearing in the games will now follow the seasons in the real world . The Pokémon available in the wild/eggs/raids will follow the season, such as the Deerling forms. GO Battle League will also follow the season.

There is also a level cap increase to Level 50. For lower level players it will be easier to level up, while level 40 players will need to complete extra challenges in addition to gaining XP .

Effect on US Physical Activity

On average, users with one or more experiential query for Pokémon Go increased their physical activity by 192 steps a day for the next 30 days . Extrapolating this average effect size to 25 million Pokémon Go users in the United States , we found that Pokémon Go added 144 billion steps within the first 30 days to US physical activity. This is equivalent to walking around the equator 2724 times or 143 round trips to the moon.

Effect on Meeting Activity Guidelines

Using all users tracking steps at least seven days before and after their first experiential query for Pokémon Go, we found that that the fraction of users meeting physical activity guidelines, that is, getting 8000 average daily steps stays approximately constant for users with one or more experiential queries and control users . Note that these estimates are consistent with published estimates in the US adult population . However, for highly engaged Pokémon Go users with at least ten experiential queries, we found that during the 30 days after they started playing, 160% more users achieved 8000 average daily steps . For comparison, 21% of US adults met these guidelines .
