How To Get To The Power Plant In Pokemon Let’s Go

How To Catch Zapdos in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

Pokemon Let’s Go is a pretty faithful recreation of the world from Pokemon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, and that includes the placement of the Power Plant, a unique opportunity to catch lots of awesome electric-type Pokemon… including Zapdos.

To get to the power plant you need to use Sea Skim , a secret technique you can grab as soon as you reach Fuchsia City. For more information on unlocking it, check out our Secret Techniques & HM guide page. In theory you can do this just three gym badges into the game.

The Power Plant can be reached off of Route 10, near the entrance to the Rock Tunnel dungeon area. Simply look for the body of water, hop on it using Sea Skim and follow it around. Eventually, you’ll find the hidden entrance to the power plant – once you follow the path of the water, it’s basically impossible to miss.

Once you reach the power plant, treat it like any other dungeon. There’s no trainers here, so just work your way through catching Pokemon for experience – you’re going to need it for Zapdos…

How To Get To The Power Plant

Before you can actually capture Zapdos, you must first reach the Power Plant where it is located. The Power Plant can be found at any point after you have discovered the Sky Dash and Sea Skim secret techniques. Sky Dash can be learned after defeating Team Rocket at the Game Corner while Sea Skim is taught by a man with a Lapras in Fushcia City.

Once your partner Pikachu or Eevee has those, head to Route 10. You are going to want to fly or travel to Cerulean City and head east from there on Route 9. This will take you straight to Route 10 where a Pokemon Center and the entrance to the Rock Tunnel is located. Along the eastern edge of Route 10 is a narrow waterway.

You are going to want to head north from the Pokemon Center past the grassy area and fence to the small entrance to the water. Have your partner use Sea Skim and follow the waterway until you reach the Power Plant entrance.

Where To Find Zapdos In Pokemon Lets Go

For those not in the know, Zapdos is one of the four legendary Pokemon that appear in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee. You can find Zapdos at level 50, and the electric-type bird Pokemon has Drill Peck and Thunderbolt as their main two forms of attack.

To find Zapdos, youll want to firstly head to the northern section of Route 10, above the sole Poke Center in the area. Make your way over to the small river, and use Sea Skim to surf down south.

You only need to go a short ways south before you can hop onto dry land, and find the doors of the Power Plant dead ahead. Within the Power Plant itself, youll find a ton of Voltorbs, Electrodes, and Magnetons. Your aim here is to work your way to the back left corner of the Power Plant, where youll find Zapdos in a wide open area.

When you engage Zapdos, youve got 5 minutes to defeat the legendary Pokemon in combat, before you can try and capture it with a Poke Ball. Pikachus electric attacks can chip away at Zapdos health, as can any water-type Pokemon youve got in your party.

After the battle, the 5 minute timer will vanish, and youve got all the time in the world to catch Zapdos. We hope youve brought some Great/Ultra Balls and Berries with you though, because its a tough creature to pin down.

Preparing To Catch Galarian Zapdos

Before trying to catch Galarian Zapdos, make sure you are prepared. Have plenty of Ultra Balls and Timer Balls, or whatever Pokeball you want to catch Galarian Zapdos in. If it is night time, you can also use Dusk Balls which have a better catch rate than Ultra Balls. Make sure you also have plenty of Revives and Max Potions.

Galarian Zapdos is level 70, so make sure to have a full team of Pokemon that are level 70 or higher. Galarian Zapdos has Reversal, Focus Energy, Drill Peck, and Thunderous Kick. So make sure to bring Pokemon that are not weak to fighting or flying type moves.

You will want at least one or more Pokemon with False Swipe to get Galarian Zapdos to 1 hp. Along with False Swipe, you will also want a Pokemon with a status move that can inflict paralysis or sleep, since these increase the chances of capturing Galarian Zapdos. Good Pokemon to fill this role are Zeraora, Gallade, Venusaur, Parasect, and Mew.

Be aware that many of these to have a weakness to flying type moves. So make sure to bring other Pokemon that can inflict status effects if you need, as well as back up False Swipers. When I fought Galarian Zapdos it preferred to use fighting type moves against my Gallade, but maybe I got lucky.

Catching Legendary Birds In The Wild

How to Catch Articuno, Zapdos, & Moltres in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

While your first and perhaps only encounter with each of the four legendary Pokémon has to happen in their set locations, it is possible to see the legendary birds in the wild and score two or more of the same legendary bird. This possibility is something you would never see in Pokémon Yellow.

For a chance to see one of the legendary birds in the wild, you need to be riding on a flying Pokémon like Charizard. You also have to have a high catch chain going, so you must catch a lot of Pokémon in a row. A lure, which attracts rare Pokémon, must be active. No matter how many requirements you meet, you still might not ever see a legendary bird in the wild. They have certainly eluded us during the duration of our Lets Go gameplay, but dont let that deter your perseverance.

Catching A 2nd Moltres In The Wild

You can actually catch another Moltres in the wild – and more beyond that – if you’re patient and dedicated to your legendary-farming craft. As with the previous legendary birds, these extra appearances in the wild take place as a rare Pokemon spawn with some painfully low spawning rates.

After you’ve grabbed Moltres from Victory Road, it can be a rare spawn on Routes 1-4, 6-8, 10-19 and 21-25. You’ll need to be flying on a Pokemon of your own for a chance of catching up with it.

Use Pokemon With Ice Attacks

Ice Attacks are super effective against Zapdos. Just make sure to avoid Pokemon that are weak against Zapdos.

Recommended Ice Pokemon

Description
Snorlax Snorlax has high HP and is capable of learning Ice moves like Blizzard and Ice Beam. This makes it able to tank Zapdos’ attacks and deal effective damage at the same time.
Lapras Teach Lapras multiple Ice attacks so that it can deal continuous damage to Zapdos for all of its turns.

How To Catch Zapdos

Players will be able to catch the legendary birds in the wild, but only after they catch them in their original locations first. Each of the three birds resides in a special location in Pokemon Lets Go that players must venture to. Zapdos is the easiest to get to, as it only requires the secret technique Sea Skim. Players should head down Route 10 toward Rock Tunnel, where players fought Team Rocket with Lorelei.

Once players have reached the entrance of Rock Tunnel, they should head right and use Sea Skim on the river running next to the entrance. This patch of water is also where players can find the rare Dratini if they are lucky. After following the water, players will stumble upon the Power Planet. Once inside, players simply need to navigate the winding halls to find Zapdos. Once players catch the bird, it will be Level 50.

Pokemon Go Guide: How To Beat And Catch Zapdos

Shiny Zapdos Encounter in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and ...

After two weeks of battling Articuno and Moltres, Zapdos is finally here . The electric bird is gonna be a tough one to take down. While he might represent Pokemon Gos smallest team, his electric type and attacks are going to make bringing him down a true challenge, and once you do you still need to catch him. Heres a guide on how to beat and catch Zapdos in Pokemon Go.

Zapdos is electric type, which is vulnerable to a few things, but as hes also a flying type youll really want to use a Rock type Pokemon with moves that match. Once again Golem is the best out there for dealing damage to a Legendary bird. Youll want to have a powerful Golem or two , and make sure that they have Rock Throw as their fast move, with either Rock Blast or Stone Edge as the charge move. If they dont, then nows the time to use all those TMs youve been getting from Raids.

As backup youll want to have any of the following: Tyranitar with Bite and Stone Edge, Piloswine with Ice Shard or Powder Snow and Avalanche, and a strong Dragonite with his powerful dragon attacks. For backup you can use any strong Ice or Rock type Pokemon with attacks to match.

Once you get the group, the right Pokemon team, and enough people just attack as quickly as possible. Do this all correctly and youll beat Zapdos and get a chance to catch him. Heres how to do that.

Pokmon Let’s Go: How To Find Zapdos In The Power Plant

Unlike the other two Legendary Birds , Zapdos is thankfully quite easy to find.

It’s located in the top left, or north-west, corner of the one main room in the Power Plant. To get there, simply head over to the far right side from the entrance, then up to the north and across, leftwards, to the west to find it amongst some large machinery!

Like the other Legendaries it’s a fairly tricky battle. Zapdos is Electric and Flying-type, meaning that it’s immune to the usual Electric counter of Ground-type attacks. Your best bets are Rock and Ice, to counter its Flying typing. Ground-types work well defensively, meanwhile.

Once it’s defeated, things work much the same as they did with those Snorlax you’ll have already encountered by now: it’s the standard catching mode, only it can’t run away . So take your time and remember to use berries effectively to help!

That’s everything here in this optional area. If you’re after more post-game areas head to Cerulean Cave for the next steps in your post-game quest, or cycle back to our main Pokémon Let’s Go walkthrough and guide hub for all the other pages we have like this.

How To Catch Moltres In Pokemon Lets Go

As in the original Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow releases on the Gameboy Colour, Moltres resides in the heart of Victory Road.

This means you will have to have defeated all eight gym champions before you can access this fiery legendary bird.

Victory Road is said to be the final test every Indigo Plateau contestant has to brave before they can challenge the Elite Four.

You can find Victory Road at the end of Route 23, north of Route 22 and to the northeast of Viridian City.

Similar Seafoam Islands, you will have to push large monoliths onto switch oxalates to unlock gates and progress through to the other side.

But be careful because the cave is full of strong trainers which could make fighting Moltres tricky off your team is on low health.

Moltres is located at one of the caves lower levels, close to the Indigo Plateau exit.

Suggested Pokmon Todefrost Articuno

Articuno is an Ice- and Flying-type Pokémon, making it weakagainst Electric-, Fire-, Rock- and Steel-type attacks. Its especially weak againstRock-type attacks, but that weakness is risky to exploit because Golem andRhydon are both weak against Ice-type attacks. Try taking a safer approach tothis battle by incorporating the Water-, Fire-, Steel-, and Ice-type Pokémon thatresist Ice-type attacks instead. And remember that Ice-type attacks are supereffective against Dragon-, Flying-, Grass-, and Ground-type Pokémon, so leave Pokémonrepresenting these types at homeespecially the reliable Dragonite.

There are only a few Pokémon that can deal supereffectivedamage to Articuno while resisting its Ice-type attacks. Fire-type Pokémon arereadily available to most Trainers and are fantastic against Articuno, so startthe battle hot by using Flareon, Arcanine, and others of that type. A Scizorthat knows Steel-type attacks will keep your performance sharp and incomingdamage manageable, and Omastar can be the best all-around choice for thisbattlebut only if it knows Rock Throw, a Fast Attack known only by Omastarcaught long ago that cant be taught via a TM. Magcargo, Kabutops, Lanturn, Magneton, and modern Omastar have fantastic matchups with the Freeze Pokémon, but you mayfind their overall performance drags a little behind some Pokémon with higherstats.

How To Get Zapdos

How Many Balls Does It Take To Catch A Shiny Zapdos? | Pokémon Lets Go!

Though Zapdos is the only one of the three Legendary Birds that is hidden in an optional location, it is also the easiest to find. Thankfully, there are no puzzles to contend with here just a nice little maze.

Head inside the Power Plant and follow the linear path north until you have to turn east. From there, the path splits into two directions: south and continuing east. You are going to want to start heading south until you come to another branch where you can continue south or head east.

From here, you are going to want to head east. The narrow path will lead you north and you will have the option to head into the northern room or continue west. Continue westward and it will lead you north and then into a room with consoles around. You can either go south or head west.

Head west again and you will be led into a room with a bunch of junk, a teleporter, and Zapdos hanging out at the top of the room. When you are ready, save and then approach Zapdos for a unique encounter.

Similar to Snorlax and the other Legendary Pokemon, you must first defeat the level 50 Zapdos in a timed battle before you get the chance to capture it. Note that your best bet is to use rock type moves, ice type moves, or your partner Pokemon to defeat it.

As for capturing it, simply use the best Razz Berries and Ultra Balls that you have to ensure you capture it the fastest.
