Ever since it was announced that the National PokéDex was not going to be a feature in Pokémon Sword and Shield, fans of the series had wondered which Gen 1 favorites were going to be available to catch. Luckily we know the Pokémon who will be featured in Sword and Shield representing the Kanto Region. Below is a list of all Gen 1 Pokémon appearing in Sword and Shield.

• Meowth
• Dugtrio
• Onix

It is rumored that Mew will be part of the Gen 1 lineup as well, but that has yet to be confirmed. A lot of entries on this list dont make sense to me, and the Pokémon subreddit has had a lot to say about it, as well. Pokémon like Goldeen and Seaking have no business being in Sword and Shield due to how unpopular they are.

The only Kanto starter making an appearance is Charmander, and that is due to how popular Charizard is. Even though Charizard isnt the strongest Kanto starter, it is nice to see at least one of the starters to make it. It cant be a Pokémon game without Pikachu, of course, since it is the face of the franchise, and Clefairy is a nice touch since it was originally the face of the franchise. How these Pokémon will come to play in the Galar Region is still pretty unknown. I do know that at least one Gen 1 Pokémon will make it into my final lineup as I make my way through the Galar Region.

News that we’ll soon be snapping Pocket Monster pics on Switch when New Pokémon Snap arrives on 30th April 2021 has gotten us all excited to crack out our camera again and scour our digital surroundings for the critters. You gotta catch ’em all , right?

With two decade’s worth of new Pokémon added to the National Dex since the original Pokémon Snap released on Nintendo 64, that’s a daunting number to commit to memory. However, we’re seasoned veterans of the Pokémon series we know our Bidoofs from our Binacles! and we’re relatively confident we’ll be able to spot even the most reclusive ‘mon with our keen eyes come the end of April.

For a total of 154/898 Pokémon

Nearly completed GEN 1 but I forgot Paras and Parasect existed .

GEN 2 is just depressing. 86/100 and I forgot Wobuffet, one of my favorite Pokemon from that generation.

List Of Pokmon By Kanto Pokdex Number

This is a list of Pokémon in the order dictated by the Kantoregional Pokédex, meaning that the starter Pokémon from Kanto will appear first, followed by Pokémon native to the Kanto region.

This Pokédex, which was introduced in Generation I, is the first regional Pokédex. The numbering in this Pokédex would serve as the basis for the official listing of all Pokémon introduced, with subsequent generations’ Pokémon being added on to the end, with the name of “Old Pokédex” in Generation II and then the “National Pokédex” ever since, starting with Generation III. The History Of Gen 1 Pokmon In Pokmon Go

Gen 1 was, of course, the first Pokémon generation to be released in Pokémon Go. Though, on the game’s day of release, July 6th 2016, only 145 of the full 151 Gen 1 Pokémon were available in Pokémon Go.

This number would soon increase to 146 with the release of Ditto on November 23rd 2016, but players would have to wait nearly eight full months till the next Gen 1 release. It was definitely worth the wait, however, because, on July 22nd 2017, Articuno and Lugia, from Gen 2, became the first legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Moltres, Zapdos and Mewtwo soon followed, being released throughout July and August of 2016, leaving one final, very mythical, slot in the Gen 1 Pokédex still uncompleted.

Trainers were finally able to fully complete the Gen 1 Pokédex on March 30th 2018 when the research task mechanic was released. This included the arrival of the first special research questline – A Mythical Discovery – which allows you to catch Mew.

It took nearly two full years for the entry of Gen 1 to be available in Pokémon Go and, interestingly, during this time we also saw the release of Gen 2 and Gen 3.

Over the years we’ve seen a number of changes affect Gen 1, from the introduction of shiny Pokémon to the varying forms Ditto can take, and this includes alterations to their evolution methods.

Eevee, however, isn’t the only Gen 1 Pokémon to have its evolution method affected by game updates.

With the introduction of Fairy-type in Generation VI, Clefairy, Clefable, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, and Mr. Mime had their types changed from pure Normal-type and pure Psychic-types to pure Fairy, Normal/Fairy, and Psychic/Fairy respectively. This change was reflected in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!.

Additionally, Meltan and Melmetal were added to the Pokédex, expanding the total to 153 Pokémon. Alolan forms were also added to the Pokédex but are counted as forms of the original Kanto versions rather than a separate entry.
