Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version are 2010 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak, published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. They are the first installments in the fifth generation of the Pokémon video game series. First released in Japan on 18 September 2010, they were later released in Europe, North America and Australia in 2011. Sequels to Black and White, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2, were released for the Nintendo DS in 2012.

Upon their release, Black and White received positive reviews, with praise for the advancements in gameplay. Reviewers, however, were divided on some of the character designs and Pokémon designs, and some critics felt that the games did not innovate as much as expected. Nevertheless, the games were commercial successes prior to the games’ Japanese release, Black and White sold one million consumer pre-orders and became the fastest Nintendo DS titles to sell five million copies. As of September 2017, the games’ combined sales have reached 15.64 million, putting them amongst the best-selling games for the Nintendo DS, just behind their predecessors, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

When I started playing Pokémon again after a very long hiatus, I kind of had a loose idea of what I wanted to accomplish: complete the dex, get a shiny charm, complete a living shiny national dex. I held no delusions about how long it would take. This isnt something that can be done over a few weekends this is going to take me a long time. My plan with Ultra Sun, initially, was to complete the game as quickly as possible so I can work on completing the dex. But along the way, I got distracted by Poipole.

The sad truth of the matter though is that Im going to have to eventually do the same thing when I get gifted Type: Null, the other gifted Pokémon that cant breed and hatch from an egg, even if I dont do it during this playthrough. Im going to have to play this game at least four times most of the way to get normal and shiny versions of Poipole and Type: Null and their respective evolved forms Naganadel and Silvally. Ill probably do it for Type: Null this time. Sounds daunting, but it could be worse: I could have accidentally soft reset over the shiny, like this guy:

Ive had my fair share of video game fails, but this hurts to watch.

Pokmon Black & White 3 Would Have Fan

While its certainly fun to get to see the ancestors of certain characters in a game like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, its also great to see the same characters players already know grow even more and interact with newer characters. In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Cheren and Bianca got the opportunity to take their decisions from the first Black and White games and apply them, with Cheren becoming a full-fledged teacher and Gym Leader and Bianca starting work as Prof. Junipers assistant. Not only did players get to see Cheren and Bianca older and wiser, but they also got the opportunity to see how they interact with the returning cast now that they were older, and also compare it to how they interact with the new cast, including the new protagonists.

In the case of a hypothetical Black 3 and White 3, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2s challenging rival character Hugh could make an appearance. It would be fascinating to see if he calmed down a bit as he got older, or if he remains excitable as he was in Black 2 and White 2. Comparing the changes characters undergo between games is especially enjoyable when the characters already had strong arcs initially, but it can also be a great opportunity to give more importance to characters who may have been lacking in some way previously. Hughs younger sister, who is infamously unnamed, could also be given the chance to shine as a full-fledged character.

Fairy Type Pokemon And Mega Evolution

Every generation of Pokemon games introduces its changes and niche mechanics but Pokemon X and Y had a fundamental impact on the series. Fairy-type Pokemon were added to the franchise when 37 Fairy-type Pokemon were introduced in Gen 6, the first type addition since Gen 2s Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver added Steel and Dark types. The Fairy type was added as a counter to Dragon-type Pokemon who up until the release of Gen 6 were only weak to Dragon-type and Ice-type moves. The addition of Fairy Pokemon also brought a new Eeveelution in the form of Sylveon. This is the only Eeveelution so far that debuted solo instead of in a group of two or more like previous Eeveelutions.

Gen 6 also featured the first Fairy-type Gym Leader and made major changes to Normal-type Pokemon. This was done when 22 Normal-type Pokemon had their type changed to Fairy. This was major as it suddenly made almost two dozen Pokemon viable for different battle situations as they had STAB on Fairy-type moves and were immune to Dragon-Type moves.

Pokemon X and Y also introduced Mega Evolutions. These evolutions were used in the heat of battle for certain Pokemon in the game. If players had obtained the Key Stone and the Pokemon they were using was capable of Mega Evolution and held their respective Mega Stone that Pokemon could Mega Evolve.

Pokemon Black And White Release Date Announced

Pokemon Black and White have been available in Japan since September but the North American players will soon get their hands on the latest Pokemon game. The U.S. will indeed get both editions of the game Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. The new games represent over 150 new Pokemon characters and the official release date is March 6th, 2011.

As far as which to choose, both of the games are a supposed generational leap forward for the series. They both include a never before included number of Pokemon to catch. Now whether you are content in checking out the Black City and finding the Pokemon Reshiram, or a looking more towards wandering the White Forest and seeking out Zekrom, its entirely up to you. Both games have content exclusive to the titles.

Pokemon Black or White will be available in North America on March 6th, 2011 for $34.99 each.

We really have very little clue where Sword and Shield fit into the Pokemon timeline. The region in which they are set, Galar, features lots of ancient history regarding the Pokemon of the land. There are huge statues dedicated to the Legendaries, and strange markings that honour them. But where does this put it in the Pokemon timeline?

Frankly, we have no idea and what makes these games all the more confusing is the introduction of Gigantamax: where your Pokemon suddenly grows to towering heights and can even change form. However, these are not Mega Evolutions. So, is this a completely new timeline, unrelated to either of the former?

Pokemon Sword and Shield are essentially soft-reboots for the series. Not only do they make no reference to the other games, but the Pokédex is culled significantly for the first time in the series history. Perhaps the upcoming DLC which will feature Legendaries of games past will reveal more and place the games on the convoluted Pokemon timeline. But, for now, these two are outliers that probably take place in an alternative universe.

Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version are Nintendo DS games that are the first core series Pokémon games of Generation V. The games were released in Japan on September 18, 2010, in Europe on March 4, 2011, in North America on March 6, 2011, and in Australia on March 10, 2011. They take place in the Unova region. These games are enhanced on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS families.

Pokémon Black and White follow the trends set by previous games in the series. Unlike previous games, Pokémon introduced prior to Generation V cannot be obtained before completing the main story by defeating Team Plasma.

Pokémon Center can confirm that, according to sources close to the company, remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl , originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, are in development for the Nintendo Switch .

A much older rumour dating back to 2019 suggests possible remakes of Diamond and Pearl would feature lets go catching . Centro Pokémon has said new versions wouldnt be like this, but instead closer in style to the original 2006 releases.
