Shortly after the battle, Ash saw the guardian deityTapu Koko in the sky, but it flew off before Mallow and the other students could see it.

In A Seasoned Search!, she revealed that her top goal was to make the Aina’s Kitchen the best in the world. In order to accomplish this, she had to recreate a special recipe to attract more customers, but the key ingredient, Yellow Nectar, was out of season. After unsuccessfully using Pikachu’s Thunderbolt as a substitute, she set off in search of an Oricorio to help find the Yellow Nectar. During a fight with Team Rocket, who tried to steal the Yellow Nectar, Bounsweet evolved into Steenee, and she successfully recreated the secret recipe.

In That New Old Gang of Mine!, Mallow helped organize a welcome party for Ash and Goh when they came to visit Alola. She later joined her classmates in watching a battle between Goh and Kiawe.

Mallow was riding a Tauros with Sophocles and Lana when Ash appeared on the racing track. Though Ash was trampled by Tauros, he wasn’t too hurt, stating he dealt with Tauros back home. After clearing the misunderstanding, Mallow took Ash’s hand, thinking he came to enlist in the school. Thus, she showed around the school, stating both the Trainer and Pokémon have to study together. Afterwards, she knocked on the principal’s door Samson Oak appeared and welcomed Ash. Ash explained he didn’t want to enlist since he merely followed Kiawe. Regardless, Mallow continued to show Ash around the school and introduced him to Professor Kukui. Before they could continue, they saw some men intimidating Kiawe Mallow recognized them as Team Skull. Mallow watched as Ash joined Kiawe and defeated Team Skull grunts.

Mallow spent a day at the beach with her classmates. She played in the sea with her friends before Kukui asked of them to observe the Pokémon and their habitats. Once Ash and Kiawe returned, who encountered some , Mallow thought Ash could battle one of them and catch it. Later on, she continued playing with her friends, with Popplio’s bubble serving as a balloon.

To counter the Trial Captain who specializes in Grass-Types, either a Fire or Flying-Type should fill a role in your party. If youre not fond of the above mentioned types, Poison-Types such as Muk can also occupy a slot as not only do these resist Grass but also Fairy-Types. As a matter of fact, these can even launch powerful damage to both of those opposing types, making them advantageous for this battle.

Although Mallow hails as the Grass-type specialist, there is an exception since she also has a Talonflame in her roster. Therefore, it is recommended to also keep a Pokemon with the Rock-Type move Rock Blast as it can deal 4 times the amount of damage to Mallows Talonflame.

Ninetales with the hidden ability can summon hail upon a safe switch-in and deal chip damage to Talonflame, removing the effects of its Focus Sash. It is also capable of launching a powerful STAB Blizzard during a hailstorm which can take out most of Mallows Grass-Type Pokemon and does a decent amount of damage to Talonflame even though it resists it.

If players rematch Mallow in the battle tree then she will have a Sceptile on her team. The reason that this is such a strange occurrence is that it is a starter Pokémon from generation 3 and there were more popular Grass-types that she could have obtained. Many trainers missed some of her new creatures in the battle tree and this one was the most interesting new Pokémon that she obtained!
